45 art education leaders from 15 states along with Deborah Reeve, NAEA Executive Director; Nancy Walkup, SchoolArts; and Debra Pylypiw, NAEA Webinars gathered in the plaza area of Kansas City, MO. The time was split between business meetings and local museum activities. Presentations included restructuring presented by New Mexico and board engagement by Nebraska. 2018 - NAEA Summer Leadership Conference
June 23-26, 2018 - Charleston, South Carolina
Forty Western Region leaders gathered in Charleston in late June. Bob Reeker, VP and Kim Cairy, VP Elect facilitated state reports and a focus on membership and volunteerism. Speakers included Tiffany Beltz & Devon Calvert of Wisconsin, Theresa McGee of Illinois, and Laura Tawil of Ohio.
2017 - NAEA Summer Leadership Conference
June 21-24, 2017 - Elmhurst, Illinois
The NAEA Western Region Summer Leadership Conference was June 21-24, 2017 at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois. The Western Region had nearly 50 members attend the three day conference focusing on state and regional work to support members. Cindy Todd was WR VP and Bob Reeker was WR VP Elect.

The NAEA Summer Leadership Conference was July 27-30, 2016 in Washington D.C. The Western Region had nearly 40 members attend the three day conference focusing on the Artistry of Leadership. Cindy Todd was WR VP and Bob Reeker was WR VP Elect.

Biennial Leadership Institute and Summer Forum in Columbus, 2011!
The Western Region Biennial Leadership Institute was June 23, 2011 and the Summer Forum was June 24-26, 2011, in Columbus, Ohio. We had over 60 attendees (plus speakers and volunteers) meet at the Columbus Museum of Art on Thursday. Over 40 leaders participated in the Summer Forum the next two and a half days.
