Eighth Grade Art Exploratory (ArtX8)

This class is designed to allow students to explore a variety of artistic media and styles. Students will learn ways to express themselves and challenge their creativity. Emphasis is placed on the principles of design: emphasis, dominance, balance, contrast, proportion, rhythm, eye-flow, variety and harmony. Students are also given practice in recognizing, responding to content and expression in art as well as deliberately being expressive in one’s own art. Students will also learn about the four art disciplines; art history, aesthetics, art criticism, and art production.
