Shannon Carey

Shannon Carey is the Founder & Lead Educator at Three Roots Education in Ridgefield, CT. Three Roots Education is a Sustainable Art & Garden Education Center focused on providing workshop style lessons to all ages of students.


Shannon also serves as an Assistant DIrecotr of Admission, at Fordham University on their Lincoln Center Campus. Shannon loves being able to  Massachusetts & Missouri recruiting furutre Rams. 


Since sophomore year of college Shannon has also been actively engaged with NAEA leadership at both the state and national level. Presently Shannon serves as the Massachusetts Art Education Chapter's Conference Committee Chair. We are eagerly looking forward to the Fall 2019 Conference at Monseratt College of Art & Design in Beverly, MA!


Shannon graduated with a BFA in Art Education from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and holds a valid K-12 Art Teaching Certification with the State of TN. Currently, Shannon is also a M.A. in Art Education candidate at Boston University. In her classroom, Shannon focuses on bringing students lessons which engage and emphasize process based art making, and choice based learning.


During University Shannon spent two years interning & working as staff with Cheekwood Museum of Art & Botanical Gardens in Nashville TN, in their Public Programs Department. However, presenting at the 2017 NAEA Student Round Tables tops her list as proudest collegiate accomplishment. These experiences, coupled with student teaching experiences inspired Shannon to open Three Roots Education & join a BFA recruitment team.
