Sara R. Martinez

Hello, and welcome to my e-portfolio home page! I am a recent graduate of The University of New Mexico's Art Education program. My last semester was spent student teaching for an 18 week placement at North Valley Academy, located in the Village of Los Ranchos in central New Mexico. There I worked with students to build greater understandings of art processes and techniques and helped them develop their skills of creative thinking and critical inquiry. 

When I am not teaching I am creating my own art in a variety of mediums, including but not limited to works in ceramic sculpture, mixed media sculpture, mixed media collage, watercolors, and of course, drawing. As an artist, I believe it is important to expose one's self to all sorts of materials. In my teaching I aim to provide students with the same opportunitues to explore.
