Figuring it out

Below are examples of my own artwork done while I was studying at Rhode Island College. During my time there I took figurative modeling, advanced figurative modeling, many ceramics courses, and I even learned to make my own glazes. The human form is one of the most beautiful creations of mother nature, and was the focus of much of my studies while in school. Some of the works were created from the use of a live model and others from sketches and books. After studying from the live models in class I would spend my time creating abstracted sculptures that still were based on the human, to be more specific female form. The surface treatment on my pieces below is either a simple red iron oxide wash or one of my own glazes.
