Letter Form Name Design

This lesson introduces students to the visual world of letterform.  Students view examples of varying ways the alphabet has been manipulated.  They will see a variety of letter form and focus on four specific styles (gothic, art nouveau, Celtic, & graffiti) and see examples.  Students will first practice altering letters and then design their own name in a self created letterform.  They will also include a creative background based off the theme of their letterform.
