A thriving studio practice is central to my philosophical belief that one learns best by continuing the physical act of studio art making. Besides working in sketchbooks, I like to work in a variety of other media. My fine arts focus is painting, but I also like to work in 3D media. Most recently, I have been working on a series of protest postcards, which are linked to on the left.
My ceramics series is focused on wheel thrown objects with added components, stoneware with black slip sgraffito, and lined with gold leaf. They tell stories of my childhood.
Finally, I bind books both for personal use as blank sketchbooks and journals, and as an art form.
