Who is American today? A collaborative research project through digital storytelling
Using digital storytelling high school students responed to the theme. Working with my colleague, Dr. Flavia Bastos, we are at the beginning phase of this project and will continue to explore the long-term purposes of having students tackle this critical question with attendees. We are currently identify emerging themes, issues, and concerns with the potential to illuminate educators in developing strategies to be increasingly responsive to their students.
We hope to capture additional perspectives and stories of high school students about issues that of national preoccupation, such as the fragmented and divided realities that exist in the United States today. Our intention is to help other teachers to participate and help their students to articulate, share, and reflect upon the narratives and experiences of today’s students across the country through digital story telling.
