I first discovered my love of art as a student at Masconomet Regional High School in Topsfield, MA.  This directly influenced my decision to attend Rhode Island School of Design for my Bachelor of Fine Arts.  I knew I wanted to pursue a career in visual art and I had an inkling that I wanted to become a teacher.  The Art Department became my safe haven in high school, where I was able to comfortably learn, grow, explore, and succeed.

Years of experience in the classroom and my Masters of Education from Salem State College in Salem, MA have helped me to become an organized teacher with successful classroom management skills.  I have taught a variety of students in grades 6-12 with different learning styles and abilities.  My strong design and visual arts foundation have given me the confidence to teach all types of studio art classes, including: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media collage, printmaking and product design.  I enjoy teaching traditional techniques as well as incorporating the use of technology in my classroom.  I expect my students to try new things, learn by doing, and leave my classroom with a new way to problem solve.
