I can not remember a time when I wasn't drawing, painting, and/or building something.   My favorite book as a child was the "Make and Do" book of the Childcraft Encyclopedia.  Since I spent lots of time in church services, I spent many hours creating artwork on bulletins and offering envelopes and creating countless flip books in the hymnals.  Fortunately for me, my parents found Mrs. Stewart (in Oxford, NC) and Mrs. Moseley (in Greenville, SC) to fill in the gaps since in those days you couldn't find an art teacher in the elementary schools.

Over the years, I've worked in a wide variety of mediums: painting in watercolors, oils and acrylics, printmaking, jewelry and metal work, papermaking and book arts, sculpture, and, most recently, ceramics.  Currently I'm working on thrown dinnerware and figurative sculpture.
